Animation

Image
Animated GIF: Original Images: Artist Statement:     The  animated gif that I created through my knowledge of Adobe Photoshop explores the emotional journey of a coffee cup, personifying it with expressions of sadness when empty and joy when filled. I began the process of creating my animation my collecting all my images and placing them in separate layers & folders in order to stay organized within my new photoshop file. I then began my frame animation by clicking "timeline" within the "window" tab at the top of the screen. Next, I turned on/off layers and moved the different elements of my animation to their desire places in each frame to create the key frames of my piece. I then added in-betweens and changed the speed of each frame to make my animation move as smoothy as possible. After creating my core animation, I added a scene that included my tag brush in the form of latte art on each of the three coffee mugs, before transitioning to the credits and endin...

Animation Homework 1

Video 1: https://youtu.be/IO1yDUJl8qw?si=I_4ysuoi5m9g79ol      This video provided a brief overview of the method to creating frame-by-frame animations in Photoshop. The video started by opening the window tab, then the time line feature from the top task bar, which I believe will be easy to access and essential in setting the foundation for my animation. Additionally, I felt as if the functions of the "new video group" tool was fairly simple, in similarity to the process of reducing or adding frames within your new layer. This tool allows you to duplicate the layer as many times until you have as many frames as you need. Furthermore, the video creator explains how to draw within the layers you created to make your frames and how to enable "onion skin" to show you what you have drawn in previous layers for reference. After putting all your layers together, this process seems fairly understandable for easy animation within Adobe Photoshop.    Video 2: https://yo...

Somewhere

Image
Final Image: Original Image: Image Before Editing:  Artist Statement:      To create my final  photoshopped "somewhere" image I began by first choosing a TV show that I enjoyed and thought would be fun to recreate with myself as character. I chose a scene from SpongeBob which pictured a clip of his street that contained his, Squidward's, and Patrick's houses. I next picked out an outfit and sunglasses that would match the tropical underwater aesthetic of the scenery. After, I chose a setting with natural lighting and minimal shadows to take my image before editing. I then download and placed this image as embedded into a new layer above the background of the SpongeBob clip which I had previous inserted into photoshop and marked with my logo tag. I then turned down the opacity on my image and adjusted it to fit the intended placement, of walking down the pathway to Squidward's house. Following this I utilized the "lasso" tool to roughly select the outli...

Ps Homework 3

Image that would be  hard to Photoshop: I feel as if this image would be hard to photoshop because of his hand placement and the feathers that are overlapping his arm. Idea for the "Somewhere" project: I think this is a good inspiration image for my "somewhere" project because I planned to use a landscape from the series SpongeBob to Photoshop a picture of myself into, which has a similar aspect to this image. Images that made me laugh: This image recreation made me laugh because the photo editor took the person's request literally by adding a hand and arm covering her eyes. Illusion I might want to recreate: I think this illusion would be interesting to recreate because of the depth perception aspect, especially in a landscape setting.

Photoshop BW to Color

Image
Artist Statement:      In order to create my black and white to colorized images within Adobe Photoshop, I first had to insert the image of me interacting with my environment of Clearwater beach and with the people I call my best friends. Following this, I adjusted the coloring to grayscale and created a section beneath my image to place both my logo tag and the color theme I would be working with in the version of my image. I then created multiple layers in which I used both the "quick selection" and "brush" tools to either select my colored section or brush color onto it from the mask. I used the "eyedropper" tool to select the color from the 5 options within my color theme palate I have previous placed in a new layer at the bottom of my image, in order to add color to my various selected sections. I repeated this process a total of three times with my three different color themes, triad, analogous, and monochromatic. Furthermore, I proceeded with placin...

TagBrush

Image
Original File: Final Image: Artist Statement:      In order to create my TagBrush logo design, I first had to download my original black and white logo file from Adobe Illustrator & place it in Adobe PhotoShop. Following this, I adjusted the sizing and created a path around my image, before adding a layer label "spray". I placed this layer and adjusted the opacity to fit the new background correctly, along with changing the layer from "normal" to "lighten". Next, I added both the "scratches" & "negative" layers in order to add texture to my image & give it a graffiti tag feel. Lastly, I created a brush of my logo with these newly added layers. In order to create my final image I then created a new file and adjusted the size and color of my brush, before placing my brush logo in a geometric manner. The color scheme I created was intended to be representative of spring and the Easter season, and I achieved this by using a pas...

After viewing the documentary based upon the art of Platon's photography, portraits in particular, I feel as if I have gained knowledge on the importance of emotion behind photography as well. Platon explains how his portraits and what is captured is dependent on both his and his subject mood and state of mind in that brief moment when the photo is captured. Platon is specifically known for his portraits of famous world leaders, often featured as the cover of Time Magazine. These portraits allow for the subjects to express the emotions surrounding power and therefore send a message to the Time Magazine's American viewers.     Once I had reached the end of this documentary episode by "Abstract: The Art of Design", I followed the next link in the assignment in order to view "The People's Portfolio". As I looked through the images presented in the different folders on this webpage, I felt emotion connected with each. One photo in particular, however,...
