To create my final photoshopped "somewhere" image I began by first choosing a TV show that I enjoyed and thought would be fun to recreate with myself as character. I chose a scene from SpongeBob which pictured a clip of his street that contained his, Squidward's, and Patrick's houses. I next picked out an outfit and sunglasses that would match the tropical underwater aesthetic of the scenery. After, I chose a setting with natural lighting and minimal shadows to take my image before editing. I then download and placed this image as embedded into a new layer above the background of the SpongeBob clip which I had previous inserted into photoshop and marked with my logo tag. I then turned down the opacity on my image and adjusted it to fit the intended placement, of walking down the pathway to Squidward's house. Following this I utilized the "lasso" tool to roughly select the outline of my body and created a mask within this layer. I went back in with the "brush" tool and erased any prominent points of the background that were not previously selected by the "lasso" tool. I repeated the process of switching back and forth between black and white within the masked layer, with the brush sized at 1 Pixel, in order to make sure I included any part of my body and excluded any pixels that were part of the background of my image before editing. Lastly, I made a new layer and placed the same image as embedded once again and adjusted it to the correct sizing, before tracing a shadow with the "lasso" tool according the lighting and shadows within the TV clip. I filled this mask with a solid gradient and turned down the opacity to recreate the illusion of a shadow before going in with the "brush tool" and cleaning up the edges. All in all, I really enjoyed this project due to its fun and individualistic nature, along with the belief that the skills I haven learned will help me in other future endeavors.
