Animation Homework 1
Video 1: https://youtu.be/IO1yDUJl8qw?si=I_4ysuoi5m9g79ol
This video provided a brief overview of the method to creating frame-by-frame animations in Photoshop. The video started by opening the window tab, then the time line feature from the top task bar, which I believe will be easy to access and essential in setting the foundation for my animation. Additionally, I felt as if the functions of the "new video group" tool was fairly simple, in similarity to the process of reducing or adding frames within your new layer. This tool allows you to duplicate the layer as many times until you have as many frames as you need. Furthermore, the video creator explains how to draw within the layers you created to make your frames and how to enable "onion skin" to show you what you have drawn in previous layers for reference. After putting all your layers together, this process seems fairly understandable for easy animation within Adobe Photoshop.

This tutorial was a VoiceOver video that covered the basic tools of Adobe Photoshop. The content creator starts off with a brief introduction of Photoshop animation, reviewing the concept of key frames, in betweens, and onion peels. From there, the narrator explains why it is important to start by creating your key frames first because you can use the "onion peel" feature to show you the frames before and after with a lower opacity. I believe it is important to be acquainted with the Photoshop animation tools and features and where certain tools are located in order to be successful in creating your final animated product. Furthermore, the creator explains that the less in-betweens you have the more the movement of the animation will feel fast. I believe this will be helpful in planning the timing of my animation and its final outcome once all the key frames and in-betweens are complied.

Similarly to the previous tutorial, this video provides an introductory level explanation of the basic tools and process required for one to have knowledge of, in order to create simple animations within Adobe Photoshop. The narrator proceeded to use the "shape" tool and explains how to round or sharpen the edges of the shapes you will be using in your animation. I think this tool will be very useful in customizing the figures and shapes in my animation and seems fairly simple to access and use. I also believe the duplicating and flipping features will be useful in creating letters if I decide to use words within my animation. The narrator then shifts to showing the viewer how to open the "timeline" tool within the "window" tab on the task bar and explains why you should then proceed by choosing the "video animation" option. She explains that this option allows for access to the "transform" and "opacity" tools which allow for a more smooth transition compared to if we had chosen "frame animation". The video creator then explains how to adjust the timing of certain layers and how to use masks unfold the letters she has created. Overall, when the tutorials are followed along with I found the explanation of their usage and the tools themselves fairly straightforward to implement and allow for a lot of customization. I look forward to incorporating what I have learned into my upcoming Adobe Photoshop animation project.
