Final Portfolio

Image
Final Portfolio: Artist Statement:     To craft my Final Portfolio in InDesign, I began by sketching the cover, index, and all 10 assignment pages, along with a back cover. My goal was to achieve a clean, professional, and engaging layout. I selected a harmonious color scheme using Adobe Color and picked two fonts—one for headings and one for body text—to complement my theme. Using InDesign, I set up a 13-page document sized at 8.5 x 11 inches with a bleed of 0.125 inches. I organized my design into layers for text, logo, page numbers, and background. Throughout the process, I utilized various tools such as the type tool, line tool, rectangle frame tool, and shape tools. I adjusted stroke patterns and fill colors using the dropper tool and properties tab to match my chosen color scheme. Starting with the cover, index, and about me pages, I aimed to provide a comprehensive introduction and overview of my semester projects. I ensured my artist statement was included on ea...

Business Cards

Business Cards: 1.                   2.   3. Artist Statement:      In order to create my 3 business cards  within InDesign, I began by sketching out 12 different front/back versions of my card, making sure to include my logo in each. I planned on making my business cards professional, yet aesthetic, using each of the 3 color themes from my original logo project . I began my creative process by opening my project in InDesign, first creating my 6 page, 3.5x2 inch, .125 inch bleed, document. I then created 3 different layers for my text, logo, and background. Throughout the creation of my 3 business cards I used tools such as the type tool, line tool, rectangle frame tool, and shape tools. I also altered the stroke pattern and fill colors, using the dropper tool and properties tab, depending on the color scheme of the logo I had strategically placed on each business card. Overall, I believe the skills I h...

Postcard

Postcard:  Artist Statement:      In order to create my solar eclipse themed postcard within InDesign, I began by researching the path of the 2024 eclipse and choosing a city it would be directly affected. Following this, I planned on making a postcard  encouraging tourists to visit Syracuse, NY to view the solar eclipse. I began my creative process by downloading several images, then editing a solar eclipse image into the sky of the scenic image of the city of Syracuse within Adobe PhotoShop. Then, I started working on my project in InDesign, by first creating my 2 page, 4.25x6 inch, .125 inch bleed, document and flipping the second page by 90 degrees CW. Starting with page 1, I made an image box using the "rectangle frame" tool and inserted my edited Syracuse eclipse image. I flipped this image 90 degrees as well to have it fit the front page appropriately. Following this I created another image box across the page and filled it with the color white. I added a...

Id Homework 1

VIDEO 1 :    This video provided a brief overview of the basic functions of Adobe InDesign. The video starts by the narrator reassuring the viewer that if they are familiar with both Illustrator and PhotoShop, that this program's tools will be relatively familiar and easy to operate. Next, the creator explains both the "selection" and "direct selection" tools, which I feel will be easy to operate as they are very to similar to that of the selection tools in Adobe Illustrator. Additionally, he reviews both the "type" tool and "type on path" tool, which we became familiar with in Adobe illustrator while creating both the Calligram and Poster projects. Lastly, the narrator reviews the multidimensionality of the "pen" tool which we once again used quite a bit in Illustrator. Overall, I believe InDesign will be fairly simple to become proficient in, as I have already mastered many of the tools it shares in similarly to Adobe Illustrator ...
