Ps Homework 1

Tutorial 1

This video provided a brief overview of the available basic tools in Photoshop. The video started by introducing the "lasso" tool which I believe will be very helpful in removing unwanted objects from a piece. Additionally, I felt as if the functions of this tool were fairly simple, in similarity to the next tool introduced, the "patch" tool. This tool allows you to replace one part of an image with another. Furthermore, the video creator expresses that these tool are ideal for any type of photography, from landscapes to product shots.

Tutorial 2

This tutorial was a VoiceOver video that covered the basic tools of Adobe Photoshop. The content creator starts off with a brief introduction of photoshop, giving the viewer a tour of the application, including where the tool bar is located and how to navigate it. From there, the narrator moved on to how to use the functions of the menu bar, palates, and image window. I believe it is important to be acquainted with the app and where certain tools are located in order to be successful in creating your pieces. Furthermore, the creator explains both the "move" and "marquee" tool which once again seem simple to use and helpful for navigation with in the app and while creating your artwork.

Tutorial 3

In congruence with the previous tutorial, this video was a part 2 extension of the basic tools one needs to have knowledge of in order to operate Adobe Photoshop. To pick back up from the previous video, the narrator proceeded to explain the "healing brush" tool, which allows you to paint over objects you want to disappear and also enables the user to recreate a section of their image. I think this tool will be very useful in removing unwanted aspects in the background of an image I will be working with, and seems fairly simple to access and use. I also believe the "red-eye" tool will be useful in removing the red eyes in subjects that can result from flash photos being taken in the dark. The narrator then shifts to explaining both the "pattern stamp" and "clone stamp" tools which allow users to paint both patterns/textures and clones of another area of the image onto their piece. Overall, when the tutorials are followed along with I found the explanation of their usage and the tools themselves fairly straightforward to implement and look forward to incorporating them into my upcoming pieces.
