TagBrush

Image
Original File: Final Image: Artist Statement:      In order to create my TagBrush logo design, I first had to download my original black and white logo file from Adobe Illustrator & place it in Adobe PhotoShop. Following this, I adjusted the sizing and created a path around my image, before adding a layer label "spray". I placed this layer and adjusted the opacity to fit the new background correctly, along with changing the layer from "normal" to "lighten". Next, I added both the "scratches" & "negative" layers in order to add texture to my image & give it a graffiti tag feel. Lastly, I created a brush of my logo with these newly added layers. In order to create my final image I then created a new file and adjusted the size and color of my brush, before placing my brush logo in a geometric manner. The color scheme I created was intended to be representative of spring and the Easter season, and I achieved this by using a pas...

Ps Homework 2

After viewing the documentary based upon the art of Platon's photography, portraits in particular, I feel as if I have gained knowledge on the importance of emotion behind photography as well. Platon explains how his portraits and what is captured is dependent on both his and his subject mood and state of mind in that brief moment when the photo is captured. Platon is specifically known for his portraits of famous world leaders, often featured as the cover of Time Magazine. These portraits allow for the subjects to express the emotions surrounding power and therefore send a message to the Time Magazine's American viewers.     Once I had reached the end of this documentary episode by "Abstract: The Art of Design", I followed the next link in the assignment in order to view "The People's Portfolio". As I looked through the images presented in the different folders on this webpage, I felt emotion connected with each. One photo in particular, however,...

Ps Homework 1

Tutorial 1      This video provided a brief overview of the available basic tools in Photoshop. The video started by introducing the "lasso" tool which I believe will be very helpful in removing unwanted objects from a piece. Additionally, I felt as if the functions of this tool were fairly simple, in similarity to the next tool introduced, the "patch" tool. This tool allows you to replace one part of an image with another. Furthermore, the video creator expresses that these tool are ideal for any type of photography, from landscapes to product shots. Tutorial 2      This tutorial was a VoiceOver video that covered the basic tools of Adobe Photoshop. The content creator starts off with a brief introduction of photoshop, giving the viewer a tour of the application, including where the tool bar is located and how to navigate it. From there, the narrator moved on to how to use the functions of the menu bar, palates, and image window. I believe it is important ...

Logo

LOGO - COLOR (3): LOGO - B/W: LOGO - SKETCH: Artist Statement:        To create my personal logo I first brainstormed objects that are representative of who I am as a person and combine them in unique ways. Of the ten I sketched, I chose a logo that I created which combine a dumbbell and a lotus flower. Both of these are meaningful objects to me because through weightlifting, I was able to unleash the meaning of overcoming adversity, growth, and rebirth, universally represented by the lotus flower. I then inserted this sketch into Adobe Illustrator and using the pen tool and a variety of the program's features, including the reflection option, I was able to create this visual illustration of my logo in black and white . Next I went on to make three copies of this logo on the same layer in illustrator. I decided on a different color scheme for each version, each involving three empowering yet introspective colors. Moreover, I believe my choice in color scheme als...

Poster

Image
Final Image: Selfie Image: Inspirational Propaganda Images:   Artist Statement:      To create my propaganda self portrait poster, I first chose an appropriate photo of myself that aligned with the intended propaganda theme I chose to work with. In the image I chose, I am holding a drink with a paper straw in it, which I intended to use to make a reference to using recycled materials over others that are harmful to the environment. Next, I inserted this image into Adobe Illustrator and using the pen, shape, and text tools and a variety of their features I was able to create this visual illustration of my self portrait . Keeping the recycling propaganda theme in mind, I then worked toward changing the background color of my poster, creating the recycling symbol with the shape tool, and adding the words "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" with the text tool to it. I decided to keep a color scheme of varying shades and tints of green to further clarify my intention to promote recy...
