  Calligramme: Artist Statement:      To create my Calligramme, I first made a pencil and paper sketch of a logo I created in order to represent a multiplicity of factors contributing to where I see myself in twenty years. Using the pen, shape, and text tools and a variety of their features I was able to create this visual calligramme in Adobe  Illustrator. Using the words from my letter to my future self, I was able to create the shapes and outlines for my graphic. Since my letter pertains mainly to health and fitness, I created the head of my figure from a piece of fitness equipment called a kettlebell and included leaves branching from the arm of the figure. Moreover, I want to establish my own personal training business in the future, so I thought creating a logo would represent my aspirations. Erin, the video creator reviews the basic tools the audience needs to know in order to create vectors, simple drawings, and designs.  The “hand” tool seems simple to use and as if it would be very useful when creating pieces within the program because it allows you to move the screen to add detail to different parts of your project. Additionally, she moves into how to use the “zoom” tool which seems simple yet essential to adding further detail to certain, smaller sections of your project. Furthermore, it has become an integral part of modern life, impacting various aspects such as communication, education, business, entertainment, and more.      Upon the commencement of the spring 2024 semester I find myself both excited and filled with curiosity as a second semester sophomore enrolled in Digital Media. The opportunity that lies within exploring and navigating  the world of digital communications is vast and I believe this course will help me immensely towards my future career goals relating to this field. As an Advertising and Public Relations major, I am eager to learn more about the "Logo/Biz Cards" section of this course, along with practicing my technological skills that are essential to creating graphics and shaping media consumption.      Originating from Rhode Island, I believe I bring a positive attitude and eagerness to learn to all of the classes in which I attend within my Advertising and Public Relations major.
